About Josh Langley

Josh Langley

Author  -  Cartoonist  - Daydreamer
I failed high school.
Twice.

Which means I couldn’t get into university and subsequently ended up being unemployed for a long period of time until the government paid someone to employ me!
In spite of all that I’ve had an extraordinary 20 year career as a radio creative writer and solutions director where I won multiple awards, including two Australian Commercial Radio awards.

I also run my own creative advertising agency.
I started the successful online cartoon called Frog and The Well which became two traditionally published picture books and my fascination with the afterlife turned into a nonfiction travelogue book called Dying to Know – is there life after death?
I now speak at conferences, give library talks, school talks and speak at writer’s festivals.

So what made the difference?

My imagination.
It didn’t strike me til much later in life that while I wasn’t overly academically gifted I trusted my imagination and it didn’t take long for me to get paid to use it. I am forever grateful.
Imagination is something everyone has and I feel it’s important to foster the deep well of ideas that we’re all capable of accessing.
